Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of this application ("the app"), a small, non-commercial project that maps public iNaturalist mushroom observations enriched with environmental data. By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The service

The app displays public observation data on a map with charts and filters, and offers optional signed-in features for fetching additional data on demand. The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and may change or be discontinued at any time.

Accounts

Some features require signing in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Do not use another person's account without permission. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the data-fetching features to place excessive load on the app or on upstream services such as iNaturalist.
• Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or other protections.
• Use the app to break any applicable law, or to infringe the rights of others.
• Probe, scan, or disrupt the integrity or performance of the app.

Data and attribution

Observation records shown in the app come from iNaturalist and remain subject to iNaturalist's terms and the licenses chosen by their contributors. Environmental layers are derived from third-party datasets. You are responsible for checking the relevant license before reusing any data beyond personal, non-commercial viewing.

No warranty

The app is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or availability. Observation and environmental data may be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on the app to determine whether any mushroom is safe to eat, misidentification can be dangerous. Always consult a qualified expert.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and its maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or its data.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
